S5.6 Virtual Parents Event Thu 22nd April

Dear Parent/Guardian

Virtual Parents Meeting Thursday 22nd April 2021 - Online Appointment Booking

I would like to invite you to attend our Parents’ Evening on 22.4.2021. This is an important evening and provides you with an opportunity to find out how your young person engaged before and during lockdown and since the phased return to school, how they are progressing, what their Working Grade is in each subject and what they can do to improve or consolidate that Working Grade as it becomes the Provisional Result we send to SQA at the end of June.

The school has introduced a new intuitive and easy to use online appointment booking system. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments. We are confident this will be an improvement to the previous system and welcome any feedback.

Appointments can be made from 30.3.21 and will close on 21.4.21.  Should you wish to make any changes after this date please contact the school office.

Please visit https://grovedundee.schoolcloud.co.uk to book your appointments. Login with the following information:

Acceptable Users Policy

Virtual Parents’ Meetings – Acceptable Use (Parents)

  • Parents should log on and ensure that their microphone and camera are working at least ten minutes before their appointments begin in order to ensure the smooth running of the evening and avoid losing any appointment time.  If a parent is not there at the beginning of the appointment, the teacher will remain online to see if they arrive.
  • All subject appointments will last for five minutes (or 10 minutes in the case of Guidance).  You will see a countdown timer on screen and when this reaches zero the meeting will automatically end.  Please note that this timing is set and teachers have no option to extend the meeting time.
  • Conversations should focus on your child, their engagement in learning (both in school and on-line), their progress, their strengths and areas for improvement (next steps) and an indication of their current ‘Working Grade’ which will become their Provisional Grade for SQA in June
  • Both teachers and parents will be expected to conduct the meeting in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.
  • If any party is unhappy with the conduct of the meeting, they may end the call at any time.
  • Should you have any concerns please contact your child’s Guidance Teacher to discuss.
