Big Beach Clean Weekend 2016
A great turnout for the annual Big Beach Clean Weekend run by the Marine Conservation Society (MSC). Pupils from the S3 Peer Support Group, The Eco Group and volunteers from a variety of year groups came along and cleaned the two beaches on either side of the RNLI Lifeboat Shelter. Most of the rubbish was small items such as polystyrene and insulation material or small straws from takeaway drinks and food wrappers. The different items were recorded and this will be sent to the MSC as part of their record keeping on pollution at sea. The event is one way that Grove works towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goal number 14; Life under the Sea.
