Holocaust Memorial Day 2020

Thanks to S6 pupils, Mia and Grace for sharing their reflections and reading on Holocaust Memorial Day. The Jewish Kaddish, a mourning prayer was read in English and Hebrew. Others shared their reflections on how HMD is marked in Israel.

They joined representatives from the Jewish community, Rev Catherine Collins from Broughty Ferry New Kirk, members of Broughty in Bloom, local Councillors and members of the public in marking the day with reflection, prayers and poems. The pupils all recounted stories related to survivors of either the Holocaust or subsequent genocides in a fitting tribute remembering those who have died at the hands of others.

A good turn out from the local community helped make this a special occasion.
