S5 pupil, Ailsa Edward, has, after a very competitive application process, been successful in gaining a place on this year’s Internationales Preisträgerprogramm (German Scholarships Programme).

Ailsa will spend four weeks in Germany this summer.  She will spend an introductory week in Bonn before travelling around Germany in an international group, visiting cities such as Cologne, Berlin and Munich. Ailsa will also spend two weeks with a host family in Germany and attend school with her host partner.

Next session, Ailsa will be sharing her experiences from her trip to Germany with pupils at Grove and at Forthill Primary.

It is a real achievement to be selected for this scholarship programme and it will give Ailsa the opportunity to extend her knowledge of the German language and experience the culture of the country first hand.
