At Grove we endeavour to develop pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural values. We do this through the curriculum and the attitudes and behaviour we foster in the school. We endeavour to work in partnership with parents in this task and take into account their views as well as the individual needs of the pupils.

Grove AcademyDundee City Council is extremely proud of the new Grove Academy, and I am sure that everyone has welcomed the investment which has resulted in this fantastic facility.

I am delighted that First Minister Alex Salmond has agreed to open Grove Academy and experience the pride that everyone feels for this new school.

This secondary is a shining example of the excellent facilities that are being constructed as part of our drive to enhance the attainment and achievement of our children.

Dundee City Council’s £90 million Public Private Partnership (PPP) project is providing state-of-the-art schools that will help the city to meet the educational challenges of the 21st century.

Staff and pupils are already enjoying the benefits of the well-equipped new school. The primary has been designed to provide a positive learning and teaching environment, with bright and airy classrooms as well as a swimming pool, games hall, gym, dance/drama studio and community facilities.

Grove Academy enjoys a long and proud tradition stretching back 120 years. It is very much a cornerstone of the Broughty Ferry community. This really is a new start for the school as the completion of the magnificent modern building finally gives Grove the facilities it deserves.
The joint efforts of Dundee City Council and the Discovery Education consortium have made this new school possible. I would like to thank everyone who has helped bring this project to fruition.

Head Teacher John Hunter, his team of staff and all their pupils will take full advantage of what is on offer in this new building. I am sure that Grove Academy will enjoy many decades of successful learning ahead as this new chapter opens in the secondary’s history.
