Support for Learning Transition

Welcome to the Support for Learning Department at Grove Academy

The Support for Learning Department staff work across the school to support pupils in a variety of ways to ensure that their needs are met, that they are able to work to the best of their ability through a suitable curriculum and that they have supported places to go at social times. Some of the provision that we have in place includes the following;

Support in some mainstream classes
Homework club
Nurture Groups
Enhanced Support Area (in place Aug 2020)
Support at times of transition including from Primary 7 to S1
Curriculum differentiation
Alternative curriculum
Support with assessments including alternative assessment arrangements
Small group teaching
Assessment – particularly of literacy difficulties
Creating pupil plans and sharing information
